HORTON RECORDS’ 3RD ANNUAL T-TOWN GIT DOWN & MIDNITE CHOOGLE

TULSA, Okla. Jan. 18, 2024 –Tickets are on sale for Horton Records’ T-Town Git Down and Midnite Choogle on Sat. Mar. 9, 2024 at Tulsa VFW Post 577, 1109 E. Sixth Street,Brian Horton, President of the local nonprofit record label, recently announced. This third annual event showcases roots, soul, and blues bands, including Greyhounds from Austin, TX, Saugeye, andTom Pevear, along with a late night jam featuring Chebon Tiger Band and special guests.
The evening starts with an all-ages concert and meal in the downstairs ballroom and restaurant, followed by more music upstairs in the 21+ Centennial Lounge. Admission includes a meal of fried chicken & sides from Red Light Chicken.
“We started this all-ages event as a way to showcase the performance space at the historic Tulsa VFW Post 577 and support veterans through their mission, while trying to shake off the pandemic blues and bring people together in a communal way through down home food and music,” says Horton. “Now in its third year, we’ve accomplished those goals, and we’ve laid the groundwork for other cool events in this space, including the monthly ‘Tulsey Town Two-Step,’ headed up by JD McPherson. This year we have another diverse lineup of ‘git down’ music with our friends the Greyhounds from Austin, providing their brand of Texas soul, rhythm & blues, Tulsa’s Saugeye, led by Jared Tyler and featuring Seth Lee Jones on guitar sharing a hybrid blend of roots music, and Tulsa’s Tom Pevear known for his Piedmont-style, finger-picked blues, performing with a full band. The late night ‘choogle’ in the upstairs Centennial Lounge will include Chebon Tiger and his boogie blues band, featuring Mike Satawake on guitar and special guests. The ‘choogle’ has turned into a full-on jam in past years. You never know who’s going to show up and play. And, food! We’re excited to provide free fried chicken & sides from Red Light Chicken with paid admission. Come ‘git down’ with us on March 9!”

*TICKETS: General Admission $25 in advance/$30 day of show. A limited number of reserved tables of four are available for $150 (+ fees). The main concert event is all-ages.
