HORTON RECORDS ANNOUNCES LINEUP FOR 8TH ANNUAL 

ROCK ’N FOLK ’N CHILI COOK-OFF FUNDRAISER

 

TULSA, Okla. Aug. 3, 2021 –Tulsa musicians Seth Lee Jones & FriendsBC & The Big RigKALODane & The Soup, and the Tom Skinner’s Science Project will perform at Horton Records 8th Annual Rock ’n Folk ’n Chili Cook-off Saturday Nov. 6, 2021, beginning at 6:15 PM at Tulsa’s historic Cain’s Ballroom, Brian Horton, President of the local nonprofit record label, announced today.

This all-ages, family-friendly fundraiser features chili samples from Tulsa-area restaurants and food trucks, door prizes, live art, raffles, and silent auctions.

“It’s been humbling to see this event grow each year, with people coming from near and far to celebrate Tulsa-area music, food, art, and community,” says Horton. “It’s hard to believe this will be the eighth year. It’s become a tradition for many and even a kick off for the upcoming holiday season. While the Horton Records mission is focused on supporting our music community, we also want to connect with other people and organizations through music and events. Our focus has been, musicians first, community always.”

Donations of coats and non-perishable food items will be collected at the door for those in need. Those who choose to donate will receive discounted admission to the event.

Tickets are on sale this Thursday August 5 at 10 AM. General admission tickets are $15 in advance or $20 day of show. A limited number of reserved tables of four are available for $150 (+ fees). Tickets include all-you-can-sample chili from Tulsa area restaurants and food trucks (while supplies last).

Horton Records is a volunteer-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) Tulsa music organization. Its mission is to provide services that develop and support musicians in the Tulsa area, while fostering community with other creative partners and building on the rich musical heritage in the region. Horton Records organizes and promotes showcase events, provides booking services and management support to artists, supplies business and financial support for recording and distributing music worldwide, and supports educational efforts for all ages. Horton Records has officially released more than 80 titles from Oklahoma artists and distributed more than 100,000 physical units worldwide. Each year, it books more than 100 shows on behalf of Oklahoma artists, free of charge, with approximately $50,000 annually being paid directly to musicians.
