HORTON RECORDS’ 2nd ANNUAL T-TOWN GIT DOWN & MIDNITE CHOOGLE  |  MARCH 11, 2023 | TULSA VFW POST 577

TULSA, Okla. January 4, 2023 –Tickets are on sale now for Horton Records’ T-Town Git Down & Midnite Choogle on Sat. Mar. 11, 2023 at Tulsa VFW Post 577Brian Horton, President of the local nonprofit record label, announced today. The evening showcases roots, rock, and blues bands, including Ian MooreBC & The Big Rigand Brad Absher & The Superialsalong with Dustin Pittsley & Jesse Aycock’s “Higher Education.”

This all-ages event will utilize the VFW’s downstairs ballroom and restaurant, and the 21+ upstairs Centennial Lounge. Admission includes complimentary gumbo & sides from The Wurst in partnership with Amy Absher.

 

“Last year’s inaugural event was fantastic, and it helped raise some awareness about this super cool spot on the edge of downtown Tulsa,” says Horton. “The downstairs is set up with a main hall for live music, and the side room has a full kitchen to serve food.  The Midnite Choogle will happen in the 21+ upstairs Centennial Lounge.  Ian Moore is a Tulsa favorite, and we’re thrilled to have him play this event, along with a stellar lineup of Tulsa’s finest.  There’s sure to be some special guests sitting in along the way.  It’s a special thing to be able to present an event like this and help veterans at the same time.”

Horton Records, a volunteer-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) Tulsa music organization, was a 2022 Oklahoma Nonprofit Excellence (ONE) Awards finalist in the “Arts and Humanities” category. The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits’ ONE Awards honors 21 nonprofits throughout the state for superior leadership and exceptional service to their constituents and communities. In October 2022, the label released ᎠᏅᏛᏁᎵᏍᎩ (Anvdvnelisgi, pronounced “Ah Nuh Duh Nay Lees Gi”) or “Performers,” a groundbreaking contemporary album of original music performed entirely in the Cherokee language.
